　　农夫山泉深陷"质量门"

　　Popular drinking water brand Nongfu Spring is in hot waters right now. Tuesday, a customer from Guangzhou accused the company of “not adopting local standards” when selling products produced in Guangdong Province. On the same day, China Resources C’estbon Food & Beverage sued the company for false accusations.

　　饮用水畅销品牌农夫山泉日前危机缠身。16日，一名广州消费者起诉该公司，称其在广东销售的产品“不执行当地标准”。同一天，华润怡宝食品饮料有限公司也提起诉讼，指控农夫山泉侵犯名誉权。

　　Nongfu Spring is one of China’s largest bottled water suppliers. It produces 21.8 percent of all bottled water in the domestic market.

　　农夫山泉是中国最大的瓶装水生产商之一，占据国内瓶装水市场21.8%的份额。

　　On Mar. 14, one customer complained about finding dark substances in the company’s product. One week later, another customer made a similar complaint.

　　3月14日，一名消费者投诉称，在农夫山泉水中发现黑色不明物。一周后，另一名消费者也投诉了同样的问题。

　　Later, the Drinking Water Committee at the China National Health Association said Nongfu Spring had been using local drinking water standards made by Zhejiang Province in 2005, which are less strict than national standards in terms of chemical content.

　　此后，中国民族卫生协会健康饮水专业委员会称，农夫山泉一直采用浙江省于2005年制定的饮用水地方标准，其中关于化学元素含量的规定比国家标准宽松。

　　For instance, the permitted amount of arsenic, which can cause skin cancer if ingested by humans, is no more than 0.01mg per liter in the national standard. But in Nongfu Spring’s standard, the allowed maximum amount is 0.05 mg/liter.

　　例如，国家标准要求每升水中砷的含量不得超过0.01毫克，但在农夫山泉采用的标准中，砷含量的上限为0.05毫克/升。砷一旦进入人体，可能会引发皮肤癌。

　　However, the company said the recent attacks on its product quality were set in motion by C'estbon, one of its rivals.

　　而农夫山泉认为，近期这一系列产品"质量门"事件是其竞争对手怡宝在蓄意策划。

　　In response, C'estbon said it had never taken any malicious action against Nongfu Spring and took the company to court.

　　作为回应，怡宝称从未使用恶意手段攻击农夫山泉，并将后者告上法庭。

　　It’s reported that several bottled water retailers in eastern China said they have yet to see a major setback in sales of Nongfu Spring's bottled water, but some consumers remain skeptical about the quality of its products.

　　据报道，东部地区的一些瓶装水经销商表示，农夫山泉瓶装水的销量没有明显下降，但有消费者对该品牌的产品质量表示怀疑。
